Design for Behavior change is a course that gives students the space to explore the design of systems, information, and interface that can be used to help modify behavior. My team (composed of four other students) honed in on a huge problem for many: excessive screen use. Through various rounds of user interviews, experimentation, and prototyping, we designed a mobile app that seeks to help individuals break free from the addiction of social media through various design choices. Check out our final report and final prototype below.

My Contribution

I acted as the product manager for this team project which included the following responsibilities:

  • Creating and managing our collaborative, online workspaces

  • Thorough documentation of meetings and the project progress

  • Recruiting participants for experiments and user studies

  • Conducting user studies and experience prototyping sessions

  • Leading team meetings and taking meeting minutes

  • Facilitating team communication and communicating deliverables and responsibilities

Additionally, I also contributed to the following:

  • Comparative analysis

  • Creation of journey maps based off user personas

  • Creation of models to analyze user behavior

My teammates Nick and Hyunseok should be credited for the final Figma prototype.
